A while back I had bought a Groupon for Backyard Produce.
I was very curious to see how ordering produce online and getting it delivered to your door would turn out.
Would the produce be fresh? Would they pack it right?
I sought answers.
Depending on where you live depends on when you get your produce.
According to the website, Charlotte deliveries are Wednesdays. Works for me.
Today when I got home, this was waiting on my doorstep.
The packaging was great!
I opted for the medium basket because it’s just little ol me.
I mean how much food could one girl eat?? Don’t answer that.
All of their produce is given an allotted amount of points. For the medium box, you get 40 points worth of produce to fill your box.
So what did I get??
A huge bunch of kale, grown locally in NC.
Seriously holy kale. I might need some suggestions on what to make with all of this.
Or I could just make a enormous batch of kale chips. Hmm..
Two organic avocados from CA I believe.
These were smaller avocados, which actually is perfect for one!
A bunch of asparagus, NC grown.
This wasn’t the best bunch of asparagus, but it’ll do. I’ll probably need to use it up within the next couple days.
This isn’t produce, but it was on the order page and I was out of bread.
I love Great Harvest bread. Seriously it’s amazing.
They use water bottles as ice packs! How clever.
On their website, they say that they reuse their packaging. So save it and leave it out and next delivery day, they will pick it up!
I love that feature.
I also love that you can place a hold any week for your food delivery [example, if you are going out of town].
I’ve sampled quite a few flavors of Great Harvest bread in my day, but I never tried this Breakfast Blast flavor.
Delicious, as usual.
I had no idea when I ordered it what was in it. To my surprise this loaf has cinnamon chips in it!!
Bestill my heart.
GH’s cinnamon chip bread is my all time favorite, so I was pleasently surprised.
The breakfast blast bread also has dates, honey, whole oats, freshly ground whole wheat flour, unbleached white flour, water, yeast, cinnamon, salt.
Can I just tell you how I love that I can pronounce everything in it’s ingredient list??
Anyways, I would use Backyard Produce again!
Maybe not every week, but the convenience is great!
I’m thinking bread might be whats for dinner tonight! Yikes.
Excited to go to the food truck rally tomorrow with some bloggers!!!!! Yipeee!
Have a good night!
