A Few of my Favorite Things…
Since today was super busy, I didn’t take any pictures today. Except for my lunch.
Mexican Style Posole. Thanks Mary! 🙂
Since starting this blog, it’s been mostly a toss up between “what I ate today” to work stuff to some off my photography. So in hopes of NOT boring you, I figured I’d mix things up a bit.
Like the song says, “These are a few of my favorite things!”
[Note…These are in no particular order, just what I think of first.]
1. All things COCONUT
Whether it be coconut butter or oil, toasted or not, in a macaroon or in the form of water. I just cannot get enough of it. By the way, I just tried Trader Joe’s coconut water today. AMAZING!!!!
This should come as no shock to any of you that know me. It should be noted that I should not be bothered until this girl has her morning coffee. Things could get ugly. Despite my raging addiction to it, I love what it has to offer, in all forms [coffee, espresso, latte, cappuccino, etc.].
I love chocolate plain, in a baked good, or as a fabulous hot drink. I always have chocolate in my fridge. Although I prefer dark chocolate, I don’t discriminate when it comes to this stuff. Oh except white chocolate. I HATE white chocolate. I mean it’s not even technically real chocolate anyways……
4. Nut Butters
Two years ago, if you were to ask me what my favorite nut butter was, I probably would have answered “peanut butter, I mean what else is there??”. Then I stumbled upon the possibilities of other nut butters. Another addict was born. I’ve made all different kinds, from cashew to almond and peanut to sunflower seed butter. I don’t know if I’ll ever buy Skippy again [Unless I need large amounts of PB stat!!].
5. Trader Joe’s
Where do I begin?? Cheap produce. Innovative products. Friendly employees. Free samples. Cheap wine. That’s only a few perks to living less than 10 minutes away from one of the best grocery stores on earth!!
I’m a water baby at heart. Growing up in Jersey, I spent my summers at the beach. I attended high school which was blocks from the beach. There’s something about the water, whether it be the ocean or the lake that is just so peaceful and serene. I may not be in Jersey anymore but the lake down here in North Carolina is filling my water void.
7. Roasted Garlic
I can’t help myself from roasting garlic, if not just for the sweet, sweet aroma of this stuff. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again, they need to create a roasted garlic candle or air freshener. Roasting the garlic gives any dish a different sort of flavor [in a good way!!] It’s also quite fabulous paired with a knife and a crusty loaf bread. Just saying…
This was my dream blender for a long, long time. Thanks to QVC for having a payment plan to make my dream become a reality. This thing makes awesome smoothies and pulverizes anything to a pulp!! Great for making breadcrumbs, dips, spreads, flours, etc.
9. Black and White Photos
Editing a photo to black and white give it such depth that I just can’t help but fall in love with.
10. The Great Outdoors
There’s just something about being outdoors that is just so exhilarating. I’m a huge fan of hiking through the mountains or any nature trail for that matter. Not only is it great exercise, but it’s just so cool to see nature at its best!
Remember, these are only a few of my favorite things. Maybe this will be a series and this is the first installment. What do you think?
Late post tomorrow, game night!!
