More Nutrients Please.
This week of work is craziness. NCAA tournament is in town and is being held at the arena I work at so we are slammed! I’ve definitely been getting a workout from running around the building!!
When work is hectic, I tend to not take care of myself as best as I should be.
I don’t get enough sleep, I don’t drink enough water and I definitely don’t eat enough. When I do eat, I eat gross things like wings or fries. Pretty much anything that is in arms reach. I’m not proud of it, but it happens.
So this morning i knew I needed to add some nutrients into my breakfast.
— Cue smoothie! —
This was probably the one time where I was actually craving a green smoothie, full of spinach and other leafy things. Not so much for their taste, but their health factor.
When I opened my fridge I realized I had nothing to make a green smoothie with. FAIL!
So I made this instead.
In the mix: Frozen strawberries, fresh blueberries, frozen banana, almond milk, greek yogurt.
Topped with some peanut butter and crack-tastic granola.
Not exactly what I was craving, but still delicious.
Tonight, I didn’t get home from work until 8:45 pm ish.
I was exhausted and hungry.
This is what I eat for dinner when I have no energy to cook anything.
I mixed some crack-tastic granola with puffed rice cereal and poured in some almond milk.
I’m contemplating eating another bowl.
Or maybe I’ll just go chug some water. God knows my body needs it.
Oh and Happy St. Patty’s Day!
I wish I could have celebrated with tons of corned beef, cabbage, vegetables and Irish soda bread.
Downside to working in the culinary industry: They don’t care about holidays. If something is going on and you are needed, you are working regardless.
For some reason I love this crazy occupation. Don’t ask me why.
