One of Those Days

March 29, 2011

Ladies and gents…

I present you with the perfect pear.

[in my opinion]

The leaf just makes it.

It’s the little things in life that make you smile.

My day has been just “one of those days”.  Ya know?

After work, I was not in the mood to do much of anything. This week of work has just been taking its toll on me.

To put it in perspective, as soon as I got home, I put on “An Affair to Remember”.

And then I napped for about an hour.

Boy it’s amazing how energized a nap can make you!

I have little to no produce in my fridge right now.  So I turned to my pantry for some much needed help.

I ended up making a pasta salad.

It included: red bell pepper, feta cheese, shallots, capers, artichoke hearts, garbanzo beans, spinach and a homemade red wine vinaigrette.

Yes it’s a tad boring.  But I love pasta salads.  They are so interchangeable.

And perfect for days like today.  Where all you want is a bowl full of comfort.

Alright well I’m off to watch Dancing with the Stars.  Anyone else watching it?  Who are you routing for?

I have a late game night tomorrow! Will try to post as soon as I can!

It’s almost Thursday!! A day off!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

P.S.  I’m on the hunt for some new cooking/baking inspirations!  Leave a comment and help a girl out! Thanks 🙂

Wow! That is the perfect pear! I love it when I find fruit that has the leafs still on them! As far as the cooking inspiration goes; In the last couple of weeks Ive been craving a really moist chocolate cake. Just chocolate cake. No glam-factor and no stress to it. A cake like the one my grandma makes! Maybe thats excactly what you need to get started again? Or something fresh! Like maybe some homemade lemon/lime icetea? Spring is here 🙂

I know me too!! Chocolate cake is so lethal. Mmh. Maybe a fresh glass of a homemade, fruity drink is what I need!! I have a feeling once I get a chance to go to my first farmer’s market of the season, the inspirations will be flowing in! Thanks 🙂
