Showing Some Love

June 28, 2011

Today is one of those days…

One of those days where I wanted to take a nap when I got home from work.

One of those days where I can’t stop dropping things.

One of those days where a big bowl of cereal is what’s for dinner.

Yep that’s right.

So in the spirit of “one of those days”, I’ve decided to show a little “Link Love” and let you guys in on some of the things I’ve been bookmarking or pinning.

Tracy from the blog Shutterbean, made something really lethal.

Strawberry Infused Vodka.  <–Check it out!

I know, I know, it’s crazy.  Like genius crazy.  But I really want to try this.

It would be an excellent spiker for my aqua frescas.  Not that I spike my frescas. Ahem.

Going along with the strawberry theme.

We’re going from vodka to NACHOS!

Really ridiculously delicious looking nachos.

See what I mean?!

Baked cinnamon chips, melted chocolate, sugared strawberries and whipped cream.

I love the idea of dessert nachos.  Sign me up.

Sometimes all I crave is a big bowl of comfort.

I’m been itching to try this Brown Butter Pasta as seen on Project Foodie.

The actual recipe is from the cookbook, Saveur: The New Comfort Food by James Oseland.

That James Oseland is one smart cookie.

It’s so simple too.

Pasta, butter, pine nuts, eggs, black pepper and fresh parmigiano-reggiano and nutmeg.

Yes, that’s fried eggs on top of pasta.  I’m so onboard with this trend.

One of the things I’ve been wanting to experiment with is making fresh cheese.

I find the whole process fascinating.

Then I saw this Rich Homemade Ricotta Cheese on Smitten Kitchen

How rich and creamy does that look!

If you were to give me that cheese and a crusty baguette I’d be in heaven.

The best part?  Only four ingredients!!

Milk, lemon, heavy cream and salt.

I’m saving this for a day where I have nothing on my agenda.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post full of love!

Would you like to see more of these posts in the future??

Sometimes it’s nice to not stress about cooking something and shed some light on other awesome bloggers and their food.

Be sure to check out the sites above for all of those great recipes!!

Off tomorrow and it will be a FULL day.  I’m not kidding.

Lots of errands.  Lots of cooking.  Lots of lots.

Oh and excited for the Charlotte Food Bloggers meeting tomorrow!! We’re meeting to get some fro-yo!

Have a good night!

Vanessa 🙂
